These Terms govern your use of Matchday (the “bot”), a Discord application that posts World Cup 2026 schedules, events, voice channels, results and standings. By adding the bot to a Discord server or using its commands, you agree to these Terms.
1 Acceptance
By inviting Matchday to a server, or by interacting with it, the person who added it (and the server's administrators) accept these Terms on behalf of that server. If you do not agree, simply remove the bot.
2 What the bot does
Matchday automates a Discord server around the FIFA World Cup 2026: it creates and manages a category, channels, a voice channel per match and a self-assign role, posts a daily schedule, result cards and standings, and creates scheduled events. Match data comes from the open-source openfootball project.
3 Free, and provided “as is”
The bot is offered free of charge for community use. It is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, accuracy of match data or timings, or that the bot will be error-free or uninterrupted. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer is not liable for any damages arising from the use of, or inability to use, the bot.
4 Permissions & what it creates
To work, the bot requests the minimum permissions it needs (view & manage channels, manage roles, create & manage events, send messages, embed links, attach files). When you run /setup it creates channels, a voice channel and a role; when you run /reset it deletes them. You are responsible for the permissions you grant and for placing the bot's role appropriately in your server's role hierarchy.
5 Acceptable use
- Don't abuse, overload, exploit, reverse-engineer or attempt to disrupt the bot or its hosting.
- Don't use the bot to violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines.
- Admin commands (/setup, /sync, /watch, /reset) are restricted to members with the “Manage Server” permission.
6 Availability & changes
We may update, change, suspend or discontinue the bot (in whole or in part) at any time, without notice. Features may be added or removed as the tournament and the project evolve.
7 Termination
You can stop using the bot at any time by removing it from your server — this also deletes its stored configuration for that server (see the Privacy Policy). We may also remove the bot from a server or restrict access if these Terms are violated.
8 Changes to these Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
